Position: Grocery Field Operative - Sacramento


Job Overview:

As a member of the grocery customer support team, the key function of this role is to act as Counter Culture Coffee’s grocery demo team. Field operatives are brand ambassadors and customer advocates who operate as a liaison between Counter Culture and our grocery retail customers. Field Operatives create an important space to nurture curiosity with accessibility. This role is a public ­facing job, so a strong willingness and enthusiasm for customer service and a knack for engaging customers with a friendly and pleasant demeanor while sharing the message of the Counter Culture brand and coffee philosophy is a must. Field Ops must possess the desire to learn more about coffee in order to better disseminate this knowledge to consumers.This is a contracted part time/temporary position with irregularity in scheduled hours. There will be travel within regions, but with flexibility in scheduling. Training will be provided on retail demos as per Counter Culture demo standards.


Job Duties:

  • Schedule and organize a minimum of 4 demos per month

  • Set up demo table and brew and serve coffee in grocery accounts

  • Disseminate knowledge on current brewing practices and coffee seasonality

  • Share a passion for Counter Culture Coffee to retail customers

  • Perform 3-4 hour demo per Counter Culture demo standards

  • Clean up and check out with retail management before departure



  • Efficient time management, ability to work part time hours with flexible scheduling with little supervision

  • Reliable, accountable, and professional demeanor, with strong interest in customer service

  • Completion of demo training, orientation, and shadowing in the field

  • Ability to stand and perform demos for 3 hour shifts; some light lifting of demo kits required

  • Access to a smartphone or tablet for mobile app use

  • Valid Driver’s License and Insured Vehicle
